Integrated Academic Pathway Structure

← Back to Institutional Overview

Building upon more than three decades of structured pathway development, IFU operates an integrated Foundation model designed to ensure academic preparedness and progression stability.

The pathway combines Japan-based academic preparation and UK-based Foundation delivery within a structured progression framework.

FCA – Post-Graduation Track

For FCA students, the Foundation pathway consists of two integrated stages.

Japan-Based Academic Component (Online)

  • Structured academic modules
  • English for academic development
  • IELTS preparation
  • Major alignment guidance
  • Ongoing academic monitoring

These modules constitute an official component of the Foundation programme.

UK Residential Foundation Stage

Students complete the residential Foundation stage in the United Kingdom, including:

  • Academic subject modules
  • English for Academic Purposes
  • Formal assessments
  • Progression evaluation

Successful completion leads to admission into undergraduate programmes at partner universities.

FCB – In-School Track

For FCB students, preparation begins during high school.

Pre-Foundation Preparation

Delivered either within the high school curriculum (where applicable) or through structured online modules.

UK Foundation Programme

Students subsequently proceed to the UK-based Foundation stage before undergraduate progression.

Structural Flexibility

While the current residential Foundation stage is delivered in the United Kingdom, the framework maintains structural flexibility for future collaborative development, subject to academic alignment and quality assurance standards.
